0 So for all of you who have watched these videos, you know I run a very 4 organized kitchen. 5 This place runs more like a workshop than a standard home kitchen, and there's 9 a very good 10 reason for that. As a pro-home cook, my goal is to produce as much homemade 14 food for myself and 16 my family as possible, and the more organized and the more efficient I am, well 20 the better I'm going 21 to be at doing that job. And about three years ago I put out a video from my 26 Brooklyn studio that 27 went over some of my favorite organization tips and some of my favorite 31 products that really helped 33 a ton of you take your kitchen organization to the next level. And I'm coming 37 in with part two. 38 I have a bunch of new products that have completely changed the game for me 43 over the last few years 44 and really helped take my kitchen organization and efficiency to the next level 49 . We're starting 51 off with something that can help everyone in the kitchen. Now my last video I 56 talked a lot about 57 these things right here. Standard deli containers, you can save them from take 62 out, you can buy them 63 BPA free online. These things are amazing, I still use them all the time. But 67 what I have replaced 68 that's been an absolute game changer are just regular plastic bags. These are 72 something that I 73 used a lot, I would reuse them, but they're not built to be reused. They're fl 78 imsy, they get moldy, 79 they get pretty nasty. And then I found these bags right here which are 84 reusable silicone 85 sturdy bags. This brand is called Stasher, which I absolutely love. They come 90 in a ton of different 91 colors, they come in a ton of different sizes. And basically they're just food 96 safe silicone bags. 97 And my favorite use for them is definitely produce. So say I have a fresh haul 101 from the garden or 102 the market, I'm whipping out the stasher bags and just filling things up. And 107 they're amazing, 108 because if you have something delicate like a leafy green, there's actual 111 structural integrity to 113 these bags. They stand up straight and they have nice thick walls. So your 117 produce will be protected 118 and not crunched up in the fridge. And because they stand up straight, you can 122 really help with 123 space saving in your fridge or your pantry, which for me with plastic bags wasn 128 't really possible 129 before. And of course these are multi purpose, you can use them to organize 132 anything in your house. 133 They travel great, so I was just on a trip and I use them to bring some food 136 with me on the airplane. 138 And most importantly, they are reusable, they're super easy to clean. You can 142 throw them in the 143 dishwasher and they're ready to go again. So these are a bit more of an 146 investment, but of course, 148 you're saving on the plastic waste because they're reusable. So in my last 152 video, I talked about 153 one of my biggest pet peeves that I grew up with that when I go into someone's 156 kitchen, it just 158 paces me off, which is a drawer that you open and just like explodes with pots 162 and pans and lids and 164 all of that stuff. Sometimes you can't even open it because the lids are just 167 jammed up. Now hopefully 169 you have solved that problem if that was a problem for you. For me, my setup is 174 a hanging pot 176 thinger right here. I've had them in every single kitchen that I've been in in 180 different forms. Now 182 that solves the actual pots and pans because they can hang, but you can't hang 186 lids, which is what 188 this right here solves. So I use this thing right here for pot and pan lid 195 organization. You can 196 find these on Amazon. There's a bunch of different brands I linked below my 200 favorite. And this one's 201 nice because you can adjust the entire width to fit perfectly into your cabinet 206 space. And you can 207 also adjust the individual rack spacing to customize it for your different 213 needs. So I'm storing all 214 of my different lids in here. You can store pans in here if you want, but you 217 don't just need to 218 use them for lids. You can get creative at home. I store all of the toddler and 223 baby plates and 224 trays and the same exact thing. And it works great. So multipurpose and it will 229 get your life in the 230 kitchen so much more organized and efficient. Now I'm bringing you a lot of 234 great organization 235 products today. But if you can only take away one, it's this thing right here, 240 not the food processor, this little piece of silicone attached to the food processor that I 245 added myself. These 247 are cord organizers. And I didn't really understand how much I needed them 251 until I installed them on 252 all of my appliances. You can find these in a few different brands. I've linked 256 my favorite below. 257 And they come in white, black and gray to hopefully match most of your 261 appliances. All you do is 263 simply remove the tape to reveal this little sticky part and pop that on your 267 appliance in the place 269 in the direction that you think will be most ideal to wrap up the cord. And 272 what's great is that 274 you wrap up the cord and then it has this little piece in the middle where you 278 click in the final 279 piece of the cord to keep everything nice and tidy and in place. Now something 283 like this food processor is perfect because the cord would just be flopping around. There's no 288 space to tie it up. 289 And you really can't go wrong. Like look at this package right here. Easy to t 293 uck away into a 294 cabinet or on a shelf. And even for the appliances that have that section under 298 it where you can 299 wrap up the cord, I never use these things because they always suck. They're 303 just not efficient the 305 way they are crafted unless you're my rice cooker which has a retractable cord 309 component which is 310 incredible. So all of my other appliances I have put one of these cord 313 organizers on. Even if it's a 315 smaller appliance and it kind of sticks out, it doesn't look the best. I think 319 what looks worse is a 320 loose sloppy cord. Cord management has become a movement when it comes to your 324 desk space at home. 325 We all want a nice zen clean space. So take that concept and bring it to your 329 kitchen and organize 331 your cords. These things are so cheap and they're just going to make your life 334 so much better. So 335 now that everything's corded up, even if I want to keep this plugged in, it's 339 still a much smaller 340 distance that I can go. But just so much more tidy on the workstation. Boom 346 boom boom. But I think 347 where it really helps out are cabinets like this. You know an appliance cabinet 352 . You can see I've 353 got cords everywhere. I actually ran out of these things so I need to get a few 357 more. But now these 359 little appliances can really tuck away in a much more organized streamline 364 fashion. All right, 366 so we're on the ground again for another cabinet reveal. Now we're in the sink 370 area, which I think 371 is highly underrated because as grow home cooks, we're spending a lot of time 376 washing dishes. It's a 378 pain point for a lot of people. And one way to remove some of that pain is to 382 just optimize. The 384 next three points all have to do with kitchen sink area optimization. And the 388 first one is 389 under sink organization. This is what my cabinet looked like under my sink just 395 a few days ago. 396 And I had been thinking about this organization for a while. And now, 399 look at that. That is just glory revealed. And I know most of you probably have 408 some chaos going 409 on under your sink. So get organized. It's really simple. All you have to do is 414 measure first because 416 the plumbing under your sink is going to be one of one. You've got to measure 420 and see what can fit. 421 And then just go online or go to any store that carries organization stuff and 426 find things that 427 will work. So I found this nifty little pullout section that fits perfectly in 430 this corner. I've 431 got a wire basket over here, two bowls that were just lying around that weren't 435 going to use. And 437 then this box right here, I screwed on to the wall because I had all of this 442 upper space above 444 the piping where I can put in my trash bags and my compost bags. And then I 448 would suggest the 449 cone mari style of organization start with everything out of your cabinet first 455 . So a blank slate. And 457 then you can start putting things back where you think they best fit. So look 460 at this efficiency. 461 Trash bags here, compost bags in this side piece over here, daily sort of 467 cleaning drivers right 468 there. Dish pods which I'm using every day, easy in and out. All of my scrubber 473 pads, my sponges. 475 And then this is just kind of a traditional cleaning supplies, plant fertilizer 480 , extra dish. So to me 482 this is very exciting. Which brings me to this section over here. Don't 487 overlook your drying 488 setup. Again, a big part of cooking is just doing dishes. There's no way around 494 that. And over the 495 years I've been through a lot of different setups, different dish racks. And 499 this thing right here, 500 the Rohan dish trainer is my absolute favorite. We carry this thing at prohome 505 cooks.com. It is a 506 little bit pricier but you buy this once and it will last you a lifetime 510 because it's stainless 512 steel. And that's the first tip. I would say avoid wood dish racks. I've had a 517 few of those and they 518 get moldy over time. So they might be cheaper but it's not a great investment 521 because you got to 522 throw them out. Not only do I love the design and the aesthetics of this dish 525 rack but it just works 527 well. It's super easy to clean. It comes apart in three pieces and it has a 531 water capture at the 532 bottom so everything funnels right into the sink. Just an overall absolute work 537 horse in the kitchen 538 and I pair that always with some type of side mat. Just to get a little more 542 surface area and 544 sometimes I'll just use a standard dish towel. Just spread that out. But of 547 course you got to 548 wash them. They can get moldy. So I really like these silicone dish mats 552 because it captures the 554 water under these ridges and they can be washed. So they're never going to go 559 bad even if you get 560 a little mold in there. You can just wash it right off. Alright so we're 563 organized under the cabinet. 565 Now let's move on to our actual dishwashing setup. And my favorite product is 570 this thing right here 571 which I've been using for years. I'm going to be very careful with it because 574 it's an automatic soap 576 dispenser. This is from SimpleHuman and why I love this thing is because I'm 580 cooking so much and 581 doing so many dishes simultaneously that anything I'm using that I don't have 585 to touch with dirty 586 hands is a huge bonus. And this thing you can actually control the stream of 590 soap depending on 591 where you put the soap dispenser. It's made by Dish Game just so much better. 595 And speaking of 596 automatic, another one that a lot of you have been asking about that I don't 599 expect a lot of 600 people to have this. This is kind of like bonus sort of dream sink right here. 604 So you've got to have 606 electric under your sink. You can see it plugs in over there. You install this 611 box that hooks up to 612 your plumbing. And now we have this foot pedal. Watch this. Come on now. I can 619 even just tap it 620 and it stays on. I can control the flow of it. Low flow, high flow. Or you can 629 just put it on like a regular sink. You can override. And again I love this thing because I'm 633 preparing a lot of 634 raw meat or just in general. When you're cooking your hands get dirty and I 638 never have to dirty up 640 the actual sink handle. Keeping things nice and tidy and clean plus an added 644 bonus of this sink 646 is that when you use a manual sink lever like this a lot of times you turn it 650 on and you leave it 651 on to wash dishes. Whereas when you have the direct control with a foot pedal 656 you can constantly turn 657 it on and off which ends up saving a ton of water. Don't know the actual stats. 661 I'll put them up here 663 right on the screen. Which is a nice added bonus to something that is already 667 just more efficient 668 in the kitchen. So this next one's very simple but might be very helpful at all 671 you mason jar 672 addicts out there. I certainly am one considering all the fermentation projects 677 I do and just storing 678 sauces and just making drinks. I've got a ton of mason jars different sizes and 684 the lids get 685 out of control. So I ordered this little thing off Amazon which is just a mason 690 jar lid organizer. 692 Really simple it's got two different sizes for your small mouth and your wide 697 mouth mason jars. 698 And you put the ring on one side and the cap on the other side. So rather than 703 just having some messy drawer you can tuck this away and boom you're nice and organized and you 709 can keep all of those 710 mason jars without causing a disturbance in your pantry or your kitchen. So up 716 next we have this 717 beautiful little invention right here. The kitchen stick in which is super 721 cheap. You can get these 722 on Amazon. I believe the inventor of this company sent me this a few years ago 726 and I've been in 727 love ever since. It solves two problems. One is labeling things in the kitchen 732 which is very 733 important and two is sealing things shut. So it's a really simple product. It's 739 just a piece of plastic 741 that holds a roll of tape plus a little spot for a marker or a pen. And it disp 745 enses the tape with 747 a nice clean ridged edge. So when you write on it and you stick it on the side 751 of a jar it looks 753 like a clean label. And I'll use these on fermentation projects to label 757 something in the fridge to 759 label some spices. Anything you need a label for this thing is going to be 762 great. And of course 763 it has equal purpose by just keeping things fresh by making sure a package is 768 nice and sealed. And 770 it has some tape on the back that you just pop right onto your fridge or a 774 cabinet so it's right 775 in sight ready to go. This thing for the actual cost to like usage I get goes 780 hand in hand with 781 those cord organizers absolute game changer. Now in my last video I talked 785 about a lot of products 787 that can help you organize a pantry. They come in all different materials, 791 forms, sizes, but 792 something that I've gotten recently that I absolutely love are these baskets 797 right here by Neat Method. 799 Now again these are a little bit pricier but if you want something super high 804 quality and also 805 if you're worried about aesthetics like this thing's going to be out in the 809 open these baskets are 810 incredible. I use the thinner one for under the sink which works great I use 814 them in my basement 816 for long term produce storage like the onions and the garlic and just check out 820 how two of these 821 baskets alone can just completely transform a cabinet pantry by removing 826 everything and just 827 adding in some barriers. It's not only so much easier to organize by actual 832 product but it gives 833 you these sections that just keep things so much tidier and more organized and 838 of course it doesn't 839 have to be this product in particular but a wire basket like in the last video 844 I had a few 845 different types just get a few of them and just start putting them to use in 849 your kitchen for better 851 organization. And finally number 10 is a good indoor composting system. Now not 855 everyone has the 856 ability to compost but if you do in some form I would highly recommend doing it 861 . When I was living 862 in the city they created an actual compost program where you could give your 867 compost to the city. 868 Now there's products you can order in your kitchen where the company will pick 871 up your compost but 872 if you have any type of space outside it's really easy to set up like a cheap 876 plastic bin. I have 877 two of them for my food scraps to keep them safe from animals and then inside 882 that's where you 883 need some efficiency with your system. You can order a fancy bin on Amazon but 887 what I do is just 888 use one of these little plastic containers right here and then I have the 892 compost bag set up under 893 my sink I'll pop a compost bag in there and I'll just pop in my kitchen scraps 898 as I cook throughout 899 the day and if you've never composted before you will be extremely surprised 903 how much scraps would 905 just be getting thrown into the garbage. I'm cooking all the time so I fill up 908 pretty much one bag 910 every single day which I then just pop into my compost bin which is my nitrogen 916 and then all I have to do is add carbon to make compost which I'll just throw on some wood 920 chips cover that and 922 layer those up. After a few months you've got beautiful compost that you can 925 add into your garden. 927 There you go that's the video 10 tips I'm actually taking a bag of compost to 932 the compost right now. 933 I'm hoping that you at least got one tip in there some takeaway from this video 939 .
